Surgical Procedures

At Angel Animal Hospital, our veterinarians routinely perform the following elective and non-elective surgeries:

  • Soft Tissue Surgery

We offer soft tissue surgery for pets suffering from nose, throat, ear and nose disorders.

These procedures are also available for urogenital, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, skin, oncological disorders and more.

  • C-Sections

C-sections, or cesarean sections, are the surgical removal of kittens or puppies from their mother's uterus.

C-sections are most often performed when the mother in question will not be able to safely give birth naturally.

  • Ocular

If your pet is experiencing redness, pain or other symptoms in or around their eyes, they may require ocular surgery.

Common ocular surgical procedures include the removal of eyelid tumors, cherry eye surgery, entropion surgery, ectropion surgery, exenteration of the orbit and cataract surgery.

  • Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic surgeries are procedures which correct issues and diseases of your pet's skeletal structures, including bones, ligaments, joints, tendons and more.

  • Spaying & Neutering

Spaying or neutering a pet is the process of surgically sterilizing them in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies, disease and to extend their lives.

  • Dental Surgery

Our veterinary team provides dental surgeries for cats and dogs. These surgeries can range from tooth extractions to gum disease treatment and jaw fracture repairs.

  • Perineal Urethrostomy

Perineal Urethrostomy is a kind of urogenital surgery most commonly performed on male cats. This procedure bypasses a blocked or restricted section of the urethra which may be making it difficult to properly urinate.

The Surgery Process

We know that the idea of bringing your pet in for veterinary surgery can be daunting. But rest assured that we only recommend surgery for you pet if it is in their best interests.

We will ensure that you fully understand why we are recommending surgery, and that you are comfortable making the decision to move ahead.

Surgical protocols at our clinic include:

Pre-surgical assessments. We will confirm the specific steps of your pet's procedure and ensure that we have conducted pre-anesthetic blood tests to ensure that your pet doesn't face any possibility of anesthesia-related complications.

Dedicated surgical suites. Surgeries are performed in a dedicated surgical suite. This room is kept completely sterile to prevent infection and cross-contamination.

Surgical attire. Our staff wear disposable masks, gowns, single-use gloves and caps while they are in the surgical suite and operating on your pet.

Sterile packs and equipment. We carefully clean, sterilize and wrap our surgical instruments and equipment prior to every surgery.
